Study and Design

Each transformer is extensively studied, designed and developed to create a high-performance product, which will be properly sized to the specific technical features of the consumer’s installation.

Feasibility and application studies are carried out in order to suggest the more appropriate capacity and construction solution.

As far as losses capitalization is concerned, we compare the consumption of transformers having different efficiency, in order to determine the economic gap during their years of operation, to estimate the spending limit and the saved amount.Learn More »

Service and Maintenance

Thanks to a qualified and competent staff, Virage Trasformatori is able to provide prompt and complete transformer service, including both after-sales service and in-service maintenance and repairs, both ordinary and extraordinary maintenance.

This service can be also provided on site, in case the customers cannot disconnect or move the transformer, or interrupt their production.

Ordinary maintenance is essential for a correct working and the transformer life cycle. In most of cases, the transformer is usually “forgotten” after its installation.

On the contrary, transformers always need a specific maintenance schedule over the years, in order to ensure safety, long life and optimal efficiency. For these reasons, a specific maintenance planning is studied for each single installation, in order to optimize the performance, and prevent most of damages which might occur because of constant use or negligence.

Tests and Analysis

Dielectric strength tests on any kind of oil sample (withdrawn from the transformer) can be carried out, in order to determine the exact insulation level and suggest the customer the more suitable operation. ( test according to IEC 60156, DIN VIDE 0370, UTE, ASTM regulations).

With the collaboration of competent chemical laboratories, we carry out accurate oil analysis, for the detection of PCB, PCT, the quantity of dissolved gas and/or metals, besides more specific standards. We have factory test facility where the following acceptance tests (according to IEC 60076-01 regulations) can be carried out,

  • LV and MV windings resistance test
  • Ratio Test Ratio test and windings, Polarity test
  • Short circuit test

A final acceptance certificate will be released, in order to determine the operating conditions. These will be compared to the original technical data to verify its proper use or wear, and decide the most appropriate intervention to guarantee a regular and longer working.

Repair

A qualified and highly skilled technical department, always focused on improving the design of performing transformers, is able to carry out any kind of repair, both on oil and cast resin transformers, from any manufacturer and of any year of construction.

After submitting our offer, we will estimate with the customer the most suitable intervention, which shall be the most advantageous and technically the most reliable. In case the repair is not possible, we can consider the possibility of exchanging and/or dismantling.Learn More »

Rental and exchange

Virage Trasformatori has a huge stock of new, re-conditioned and used transformers, in various capacities and voltages, to ensure immediate availability for rental or exchange.

These transformers are delivered under the provision of Warranty and subject to specific test or routine tests to ensure the correct and optimal operation.

In case of an urgent requirement to replace or repair a transformer, our in-stock transformers are ready for immediate installation, while waiting for the delivery of the specific transformer. When required, handling and crane services can be provided.
